Boundless skiing fun in the ski area Plose
In just a few minutes by car, you’ll reach the ski area Plose, the main winter sports area in the Isarco Valley. Bressanone’s local mountain has several peaks and offers a total of 40 kilometres of slopes for beginners, families with children and of course also for experienced skiers. The highlights among the black slopes in the ski area Plose are the Crazy Horse and the Trametsch, known for a great panoramic ride. It is the longest valley run in South Tyrol – with 9 km and 1,400 m altitude difference. From the Plose valley station, the cable car takes you at 2,050 m to the mountain station Monte Pana – or even to 2,505 m with the chairlift to the mountain station Rossalm. Did you bring your snowboard with you? Then you have come to the right place in the Easy Line or on the Pro Line in the Plose Fun Park. We provide you with a private ski room to store your ski equipment.
Cross-country skiing in the Isarco Valley
Dive into the snow-covered winter landscape of the Isarco Valley while cross-country skiing and glide away from the hustle and bustle of the ski slopes across the magnificent scenery of white alpine pastures, dark coniferous forests, and marvellous mountain panoramas. Our winter sports region has trails for every requirement: beginners are just as welcome as sporty cross-country skiers. The ski area Plose alone offers you four well-groomed cross-country trails with a total length of almost 24 km. For example, a high-altitude trail leads over 2,000 m from the S. Andrea to the mountain station Val Croce / Plose. No cross-country ski trail runs directly through the Plose ski area, so you are always out and about in quiet, wintry locations.
Winter hiking and snowshoeing
The western part of Bressanone’s local mountain belongs to the skiers – but the eastern part is reserved for cross-country skiing, winter hiking and snowshoeing as well as for ski tours. The paths are well marked and lead up to the Plose peak “Mount Gabler”, the lodge Rossalm, the lodge Skihütte and other idyllic vantage points. When snowshoeing, you may venture off alone – if you have local knowledge, a good map or GPS – or explore this quiet part of the ski area Plose on a guided tour. If you are looking for more highlights on your winter holiday near Bressanone, snowshoe hikes to the peak Cima Lasta or to the “Stoanamandl” in Spinga offer ideal destinations. These and other winter hiking areas in South Tyrol are easy to reach from your holiday apartment at the farm Zimmererhof.
Great toboggan fun!
No winter holiday near Bressanone is complete without boisterous tobogganing fun. The ski area Plose not only offers you wonderful ski slopes, but also attracts toboggan enthusiasts who after a beautiful winter hike want to rush down into the valley on toboggans. Give it a try! Your kids will be delighted. The ultimate experience on Mount Plose is the toboggan run “RudiRun” – with its impressive 9 km, it is the longest of its kind in South Tyrol. You may even jump into tobogganing fun on the spur of the moment: You can simply rent a toboggan at the Plose mountain station. And of course, there are many other places in the Isarco Valley where you’ll find a variety of natural toboggan runs.
Our Advent & Christmas Markets
Visit us during the festive Advent. You will experience the true magic of Christmas in the Isarco Valley during your winter holiday near Bressanone. Marvellous Christmas markets, where you may learn about South Tyrolean handicrafts and ancient customs, await you in many small and large villages and cities. However, one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in South Tyrol and in the entire Alpine region is the “Christkindlmarkt” on the festively decorated church square of Bressanone. Surrounded by the scent of roasted almonds and festive music, you can taste typical delicacies in the midst of the magnificent baroque backdrop and choose a souvenir of South Tyrol for yourself or your loved ones at home in the romantically illuminated stands.
